The effect of Al2O3 film on the mechanical properties of optical fiber based on atomic layer deposition

Abstract

Mechanical properties of single mode fiber deposited with Al2O3 films by atomic layer deposition technique are investigated. Compared with bare optical fibers, tensile strength of the fibers with Al2O3 film increase evidently.
