Modulation format identification based on density distributions in Stokes plane for digital coherent receivers

Abstract

A modulation format identification technique based on extracting specific features of received signal density distributions in Stokes plane is proposed for digital coherent receivers. Correct MFI can be realized among five pol-muxed modulation formats with low complexity.
