Compact Resonant Vertical Coupler with Large Fabrication Tolerances for Active–Passive Integration

Abstract

We propose a fabrication-tolerant and compact resonant vertical coupler for active-passive integration. The proposed coupler exhibits a width tolerance of ±190nm which is 4 times of the conventional resonant-coupler. The coupler length is 55µm just half of the adiabatic design.
