RoF-based Mobile Fronthaul Network Implemented by Using Directly Modulated Laser

Abstract

We explore the feasibility of using directly modulated lasers for the implementation of mobile fronthaul network based on the radio-over-fiber technology. We investigate the effects of multipath interference, dispersion-induced RF power fading, and dispersion-induced nonlinear distortions.
