Abstract

We demonstrate ytterbium-doped fiber lasers with cylindrical vector beam (CVB) generation using a mode selective coupler (MSC) as the transverse mode converter and splitter. Based on our fabricated MSCs with two different methods, i.e. without/with pre-tapering, CVB generation from CW, Q-switched and mode-locked ytterbium-doped fiber lasers have been achieved. The CVB ytterbium-doped fiber lasers with all-fiber configuration and high-purity CVB emission could find potential applications in the field of material processing, nonlinear optics and so on.
