CO2 Laser Inscribed Helical Long-Period Grating in Six-Mode Fiber

Abstract

We fabricated the helical long-period fiber grating in a six-mode fiber with CO2 laser. The grating realize mode conversion from LP01 mode to LP21 mode with high efficiency. The mode coupling and sensing characteristics are investigated.
