Nonlinearity-Aware 260-Gbit/s DMT Transmission Using Frequency-Domain Volterra Equalization for Short-Reach Optical Interconnects

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a 260-Gbit/s DMT IM-DD short-reach transmission system using frequency-domain nonlinear equalization (FD-NE) over 500-m SSMF. Compared with FD linear equalization (FD-LE), around 11% capacity improvement can be achieved by utilizing the FD-NE.
