Abstract
Abstract—In this paper, we reported on the experimental generation of dark pulses from a passively mode-locked fiber laser based on the interaction between the evanescent light and two dimensional material molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) on the microfiber. The MoS2 nanosheets are prepared through the liquid-phase exfoliation (LPE) method and transferred onto a tapered microfiber by the optical deposition method. The MoS2-deposited microfiber is the key mode-locker for dark pulse generation. In experiment, by properly adjusting the polarization controller and pump power, we obtained dark pulses output. The center wavelength of the laser is 1533.4 nm, the interval of the pulse train is 33.3 ns and repetition rate is measured to be 30 MHz.
