Real-time FPGA Demonstration of Low-latency Adaptive Fronthaul Compression based on Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation

We design and implement a low-latency fronthaul compression technique based on ADPCM on FPGA. Real-time experimental results show lower-than-100ns latency of compression plus decompression with 15-to-6bit compression, and average EVM of 1%~1.1% is achieved.
