Abstract
A complete scheme by integrating baseband digital optical link and six-port transceiver is proposed and experimentally demonstrated for future high-speed high-frequency wireless communications systems. To handle high carrier frequency and provide high data rate, Schottky diodes are utilized to interface the baseband signals to six-port transceiver. The baseband signals are transported over baseband digital optical link with the help of commercial low-cost digital optical transceiver. To verify the proposed scheme, performances are evaluated by using 2 Gbaud 16-quadrature amplitude modulation signals at 26 GHz after transmission over up to 20 km single-mode fiber. The error vector magnitudes of the proposed scheme integrating baseband digital optical link and six-port transceiver are found below 2%.
