Silicon-based add-drop optical filter at 2 μm

Abstract

An add-drop optical filter on silicon at 2μm is designed and demonstrated by using a multimode asymmetric waveguide grating (MAWG). For the ~100μm-long MAWG, the 0.5dB-bandwidth is 6~26nm and the sidelobe suppression ratio is 22~27dB.
