Generation and Transmission of SSB-PAM4 Signal with a DSP-free Phase Alignment Scheme

Abstract

A DSP-free phase alignment scheme is proposed and experimentally demonstrated in a 56-Gb/s SSB-PAM4 transmission system. BERs are reduced significantly with the new phase alignment scheme in both the back-to-back case and after 40-km transmission.
