Abstract

We propose a compact high-power, ~1ns, MHz pulsed ytterbium laser for micromachining using gain-switching and master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) technique . We preliminary obtained a 1.2-ns, 1-MHz, 49-mW average single-mode output power before MOPA.
