A Novel Miniaturized All-Optical Switch Based on Optical Gradient Force

Abstract

A miniaturized all-optical switch driven by optical gradient force has been demonstrated. Its extinction ratio and response time are 12dB and 18ns, which can be adopted in optical communication systems and silicon photonic integrated circuits.
