Abstract
The influence of static and dynamic gain characteristics of active fiber loop, the amplifier’s spontaneous radiation (ASE) noise, and the working state of the optical amplifier on the performance of the pulse replication system are theoretically analyzed and experimentally verified in detail. More than 100 replicas of the original input pulse have been successfully achieved. The duration of the output pulse string is more than 5ms, and the pulse amplitude of the replication tends to be stable. Furthermore, the signal to noise ratio (SNR) of each output replica more than 60dB, which shows excellent signal fidelity during the whole processing procedure.
