Abstract

A tunable narrow linewidth DFB laser array utilizing the equivalent apodization sampled grating is demonstrated. The gratings of the lasers are fabricated by the reconstruction equivalent chirp technique. The proposed device covers a 12.34-nm wavelength range. During the wavelength tuning, the linewidth varies from 160 kHz to 307 kHz and the side mode suppression ratio is larger than 42 dB.
