Abstract

In the paper, with the wavelength division multiplexing technology we present a two-stage 3-component geophone array based on the distributed feedback fiber lasers (DFB-FL), which can be used to detect oil and gas in deep wells for a long distance transmission. The proposed optical transmission structure can suppress the coherent collapse caused by Rayleigh scattering. In order to meet the requirement of high temperature operation environment under deep wells, a series high performance tests were also performed on the array. The output power of the DFB-FL decreases and the wavelength moves toward the long wavelength as the temperature increases. The background noise of the geophone array is consistent with the noise level at the ambient temperature, which can meet the requirement of high temperature and also provide a research foundation for the deep well vibration detection.
