Optical Superchannel Transmission using Cloned Kerr Soliton Microcombs as Mutually Coherent Carriers and Local Oscillators

Abstract

We demonstrate cloning of two Kerr soliton microcombs via a pilot-tone pump laser. The cloned combs achieve excellent coherence, which are used as transmitter carriers and local oscillators for high capacity superchannel optical transmission.
