Abstract

We present an efficient slot-to-strip mode converter utilizing adiabatic multimode interference (MMI) structures. In different self-imaging positions, polarization insensitivity (polarization-dependent loss < -20 dB) and TE1 mode suppression (transmission ~ -11.9 dB) have been achieved.
