Splice Loss Characterization of High Order OAM Modes in Ring-Core Fibers

Abstract

The fusion splice loss characteristics based on Rayleigh back-scattering in a ring-core fiber are experimentally demonstrated. The tolerance of the ring core fiber towards fusion splice loss is similar to that of few mode fibers.
