Ultra-broadband Dual-mode Waveguide Taper Based on an Achromatic Metalens

Abstract

An ultra-broadband waveguide taper for TE0 and TE1 modes is designed via achromatic metalenses. The device can operate from 1550 nm to 2150 nm with insertion losses < 1.25 dB and mode purity > 92%.
