Optical Performance Monitoring for Intra-LP-mode Dispersions of Non-circularly-symmetric LP Modes in Weakly-coupled FMFs

Abstract

Based on the analysis of intra-LP-mode dispersion (ILMD) in weakly-coupled FMFs, we propose a method for ILMD monitoring based on channel estimation for the first time and experimentally demonstrate its feasibility in coherent MDM systems.
