An Acoustic/Optic Hybrid MAC Protocol Based on TDMA for Underwater Optical Wireless Networks

Abstract

A novel acoustic/optic hybrid medium access control (MAC) protocol based on TDMA is proposed for underwater optical wireless networks (UOWNs). Performance of the protocol is evaluated through simulations under both protocol and physical interference models.
