Geometric Shaping PAM-4 signaling for the Simplified Coherent Receiver with the transmitted signal diversity

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a geometric shaping PAM-4 signaling based on the simplified coherent receiver, leading to a sensitivity improvement of 1.3 dB and a power budget of 32.8 dB for 10 Gb/s/λ WDM-PON.
