Abstract

Recently Finkelstein et al.1 proposed a model of sensitivity control within a long- wavelength-sensitive cone pathway. The model, illustrated in Fig. 1, includes two nonlinear sites. The first is located at the long- and middle-wavelength (L- and M-) cones. The second is a red/green opponent stage that receives antagonistic inputs from the L- and M-cone pathways.
