Abstract

In order to recommend preferable color-sets of low luminance contrast in tele-texts, four elder subjects (61-65 years old) and four young subjects (21-22) subjectively evaluated readability of texts at two different viewing distances (6H and 12H, H: picture height) and psychophysical tests were conducted of their color discrimination, luminosity function (non-spectral) and spatial frequency function (brightness).
