Automatic sorting of meat cuts using NIR interactance imaging

Abstract

A fat and weight sorting system for heterogeneous meat trimmings has been developed. The system is based on a non-contact NIR interactance scanner, a flow weight and a sorting belt, combined with multiresponse optimization algorithms.
