Paper Parameter Estimation Using Time-domain Terahertz Spectroscopy

Abstract

We demonstrate a technique for determining the thickness, moisture, and basis weight of paper, using time-domain terahertz spectroscopy. The fundamental uncertainty limits on all three paper processing parameters are competitive with existing sensor technology.
