Abstract

VTT’s proprietary omnidirectional lens folds the optical path in a way that is optimal for side-view 360 degree imaging with moderate vertical field of view. It has 20–30 % better resolution within the designed VFOV when compared to single camera solutions with fish-eye objectives. Camera module can be designed to be very small and light and the optics can be manufactured in high volumes at relatively low cost.
