Abstract
Opticalcoherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging and analysis technology that has proven value in the field of clinical biomedical imaging and measurement. Multiple-reference OCT (MRO) is a recently developed novel time-domain version of OCT that enables a very low cost implementation. This has made the technology accessible for consumer applications that include: home retinal monitoring for macular edema (the leading cause of blindness), and sub-dermal fingerprint imaging (providing enhanced secure identification). The proposed paper will describe the underlying technology and the current stage of miniaturization. In-vivo results for both the ophthalmic and biosecurity applications will also be presented.
