Micro-photonics Sensors Created through Micromachining of Optical Fibers

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Miniature, all-silica sensors created at a fiber tip or along an optical fiber will be presented. These sensors are produced by micromachining process based on the selective etching of specially designed optical fibers. Sensors’ designs, manufacturing and performance characteristics will be presented.
