Optical Pyrometry in Harsh Environments: Measurement of Extreme Temperatures in a Pilot Scale Acheson Furnace

Abstract

Optical pyrometry probes were investigated for extreme temperature measurements. Successful temperature measurement of 2849 °C was demonstrated at the core of a pilot scale Acheson furnace.
