Abstract
This lecture will chronicle the “adventures” and discoveries of the speakers group in underwater imaging have made over recent years. The development of a latest generation of underwater microscopes, based on the ever increasing efficiency and decreasing cost of electro-optical components that has facilitated their work, resulting in a variety of instruments that have provided unprecedented views of ocean life at the micron to millimeter scales. Aside from their wonderful esthetic appeal, the data provide important scientific information about a host of creatures that are best studied in situ.
