Few-layer Graphene as Saturable Absorber for Q-Switched Laser at Sub-MHz Repetition Rate

Abstract

Quasi-monolayer graphene grown on silicon carbide was used to Q-Switch a compact Nd:YVO4 laser. Stable nanosecond laser pulses was obtained at high repetition rate up to 850 kHz with pulse energy to 680 nJ.
