A Mode Coupled Erbium Doped Fiber Structure for All-Optical Regeneration of DPSK and OOK Signals

We numerically demonstrate all-optical regenerators based on mode coupled EDFAs. These are phase transparent for DPSK signals and improve the SNR of OOK signals by over 3 dB.
