OSNR Monitoring Technique Using Bragg Gratings Imprinted in High Birefringent Fibers

Abstract

We propose a technique to monitor the optical signal to noise ratio, based on the use of high birefringent fibre Bragg gratings. This technique is effective with signals with OSNR up to 20 dB.
