Influence of Germanium on Silicon Wafers Used for Solar Cells

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Germanium was doped into multicrystalline silicon (mc-Si) used for solar cells. The distribution of Ge in crystallline ingots has been investigated. It was found that Ge could interact with interstitial oxygen atoms to enhance on the formation of as-grown oxygen precipitates, has an influence on the behaviours of silicon wafers.
