Using Plasmon-resonant Gold Nanorods as Absorption Contrast Agents for Optical Coherence Tomography

Abstract

Plasmon-resonant gold nanorods were used as high absorption contrast agents for optical coherence tomography (OCT). It is shown that nanorods imaging, with resonance wavelengths overlapping OCT source, can provide more information than conventional OCT images.
