Abstract

A real time, high-resolution coherence gating system for imaging through turbid media has been demonstrated, which exploits photorefractive holography. The fast response time (<0.4msec) and the high optical quality of photorefractive GaAs/AlGaAs MQW devices allows images to be acquired, in real-time, direct to a video cassette recorder. The spectral versatility of this system has been demonstrated by recording depth-resolved images at wavelengths from 800–850 nm.
