Sensitivity of the Elliptic Systems Imaging Algorithm to Prior Knowledge of the Background Medium

Abstract

The Elliptic Systems Method reduces the original inverse problem of Optical Tomography (OT) to a coupled system of elliptic Partial Differential Equations. In this manuscript the sensitivity of the ESM to a prior estimate of the background is tested for a set of experimental data for Intralipid Solution. The robustness of the algorithm is demonstrated.
