Large Telescope Adaptive Optics Requirements for Astrophysics and Space Missions

Abstract

Future adaptive optics systems will be needed to accomplish missions in diverse applications ranging from astrophysics to optical communications, and from ground-to-space power transmission. These missions support corresponding programs at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) each with unique requirements to be discussed in this paper.
