Abstract

Curvature and geometric wavefront sensors use intra-focal and extra-focal images to determine curvature for the derivation of wavefront aberrations using geometric optics. Cassegrain based telescopes however obscure part of the aperture thus compromising accuracy of Zernike coefficients. We investigate the effect this has in terms of sensitivity for both curvature and geometric wavefront sensors and show that small variations can be compensated without employing complex annular terms.
