Abstract

We have developed a turbulence sensor to study image degradation in domes of astronomical observatories. A prototype has already been deployed at sites such as CFHT, UH88” and LBT, revealing the effects of minute temperature differences, dome venting and the amplification of non-Kolmogorov turbulence by adaptive optics.
