Abstract

The rejection transfer functions of open loop adaptive optics systems have been observed to flatten out at low temporal frequencies. This diminished performance has been blamed on misalignments between the deformable mirror and the open loop wavefront sensor. In this paper, we explore a method for building an interaction matrix for VOLT (the Victoria Open Loop Testbed) that bypasses problems associated with optically aligning an open loop wavefront sensor to the deformable mirror.
