Performance of an off-axis ophthalmic adaptive optics system with toroidal mirrors

Abstract

Ophthalmic adaptive optics is commonly implemented with off-axis telescopes formed by spherical mirrors. As these systems often suffer from astigmatism, beam displacement and beam distortion, we investigate toroidal mirrors as a possible solution.
