Design and validation of a toroidal-based ophthalmic adaptive optics system

Abstract

Performance of ophthalmic adaptive optics systems is often degraded by the need to use spherical mirrors off axis. We investigate toroidal mirrors as a possible solution. Measured improvement in performance is consistent with theoretical predictions.
