Abstract
We propose to insert dynamic holographic materials inside laser resonators to build holographic self-adaptive filters. This principle is directly inspired by the research on resonant optical neural networks. From this idea, we design a longitudinal mode selector. We demonstrate its operation in a pulsed Ti:Sapphire laser and in a cw Nd:YVO4 laser. Spectacular increases of the laser coherence length are observed in both cases.
