Abstract
The dynamics of holographic grating induced by band-to-band excitation is investigated in tin hypothiodiphosphate. The grating were written at a wavelength of 488 and 514 nm and read out at 633 nm. The dynamics of the build-up can be described using a model with two time constants and shows a fast build-up time of 10 µs with a diffraction efficiency of η = 2 10−4 using 1 W/cm2 of intensity at 488 nm wavelength. The optimum geometry and light polarization are determined for a Z-cut crystal.
