Abstract

Photoinduced optical absorption and linear birefringence have been found in the garnet NaCa2Mn2V3O12 under illumination by He-Ne laser (λ = 633 nm). The effects are observed in the temperature range T < 130 K, persist a long time at low temperatures and reach the values ∆K ≈ 25cm−1 and ∆n ≈ 1.6•10−4.
