Abstract

The bistable oscillation of Sn2P2S6 in ring-loop oscillator is discovered, either with lowest order TEM00 mode or with one or several high-order transvers modes. The region of bistable operation covers certain area of angular cavity detuning including perfectly aligned cavity. The threshold of excitation of high-order modes is shown to be larger than that of the principal TEM00 mode.
